These are some of the most common boiler faults:

  1. Heating or hot water is not working: There can be a number of reasons for this, including a faulty thermostat or programmer, low water pressure, or a broken diaphragm.

  2. There may be leaks from various parts of the boiler, such as the pressure relief valve, the pump, or faulty expansion vessel . There is also a possibility of water leakage caused by a damaged seal or pipe.

  3. Strange noises: A boiler that makes strange noises like gurgling, banging, or whistling may be a sign that air is trapped in the system, water pressure is low, or the heat exchanger is defective.

  4. If the pilot light goes out, it might be because of a blocked or dirty pilot light, a faulty thermocouple, or a gas supply issue.

  5. If the boiler keeps turning off, there is a problem with the thermostat, a blocked discharge line, or a faulty pump (circulation issue).

  6. If the central heating isn't working, it could be due to a faulty circulation pump, faulty valve or thermostat (programmer)

  7. During the winter, the condensate pipe outside can freeze and cause the boiler to stop working.

Please note that only Gas Safe registered engineers are authorised to Install, repair or service boilers.
